The Ije Origin Story (Our Brand Story)

Every journey has its genesis… Everything that Ije is as a brand today, was, years before the conception of the idea that birthed this agency. There has been Awo, there has been Olú — two professionals who in their career, found themselves often consulting for non-profits.

Non-profits.

There is work that brings you money. There is work that brings you peace, knowing you’re impacting positively on the world. Awo and Olú, two professionals who, outside of their work schedules, sometimes found themselves volunteering passionately for causes dear to them. Sometimes, they found themselves working together, other times, it was not so.

Passion.

 

And when the stars align…

Awo and Olú, two friends who, in the course of a project execution sprint, had an extensive discussion about non-profits, passion, impact, and how there is a pattern to the branding, design, communications, and public relations problems faced by non-profits.

Problems.

And so did the journey begin. The extensive discussion unearthed the foundation of the problem: a disconnect between brands doing impactful work and the world that should appreciate and support them for the work they do. This led us to introspect on projects we had executed in the past, commonalities among the problems we noticed, and solutions we had deployed and found useful.

Solutions.

And when the stars align, out of the womb of ideas, a brand will emerge, whose destiny is to guide non-profits making impacts out of the tunnel of brand insignificance.
